When someone asks me, “How long have you been doing this?” My first thought is, which part?
I can tell you that my name is Jo. I can tell you I’ve always known I was a witch deep down. I’ve had my intuitive and mediumship abilities since the beginning, 38 years ago. I was a natural witch being raised in a southern baptist church, which stifled and disoriented my understanding of my own abilities. At 12, I started my ancestor veneration work, before I even knew who they were. My mother was adopted and my Native Grandmother’s ancestry was not discussed, so I met them through my craft.
When I was in my early 20’s, I started leaning into my path, while peeling off the restrictions and blinders that were placed on me by the religion I grew up in. I began listening more deeply than I ever had to my inner knowing, paying attention to everything that I was ever taught was “the truth” and questioned every single bit of it.
At 24, I was evolving away from what had kept me bound and began dedicating all of me to developing as a person and spiritual being. By the time I was 30, I was leaning hard into my practice. At 32, I began sharing my gifts as a reader, psychic medium, and kitchen witch publicly. Now, at age 38, I am a seasoned practitioner, professional reader, and psychic medium who teaches other witches and spiritual practitioners.
Why am I telling you all of this rather than just giving you the number of years that I’ve been practicing? Two reasons:
- Transparency: I believe in full transparency. Especially in an internet age unlike anything the spiritual world has ever seen before. I don’t want you to have to question whether or not I am for real. I’ll lay it all out there and answer any questions that you have. If I don’t have the information or skill set that you are looking for, I’ll tell you and refer you to someone else who can help you.
- To Illustrate the Path: No one, and I do mean no one, wakes up one day and is a fully capable practitioner. Everyone gets there along the course of their life. Like any skill set, it develops over time. I’m sharing my timeline in the hopes that anyone out there who is frustrated that they “haven’t gotten there yet” or they’re “not sure they are a witch” understands: this is evolution in motion.
Who am I now? I’m a no nonsense, evidentiary, scientifically minded practitioner who knows that the mundane and the magical, the scientific and spiritual, are not separate. I provide spiritual and traditional witchcraft education, as well as readings using my skill set as a past life seer and psychic medium.
If there is one thing I want you to walk away from my services with, it is this:
Being a practitioner is not supernatural – it’s ultra-natural. And you have every right, to learn and experience that for yourself.
